Alfred Czempa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leonard Trela. Rzuchowa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Konrad Glembin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Damazy Mitus took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Aivaras Adomavičius to make any attempt to save it. In the 20th minute of the match Alfred Czempa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonard Trela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute, Eric Brummer made a precise shot to the right of Leonard Trela. Rzuchowa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. When Damazy Mitus came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Rzuchowa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damazy Mitus couldn't finish the play. After 33 played minutes, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Alfred Czempa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonard Trela came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zawisza Bydgoszcz reached it. In the 35th minute, Eric Brummer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tadeusz Latkiewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Trela having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match Alfred Czempa sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leonard Trela skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Eric Brummer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonard Trela was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. After having played for 46 minutes, Tadeusz Latkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeusz Latkiewicz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eric Brummer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When Igor Modliszewski fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zawisza Bydgoszcz's protests and gave Igor Modliszewski a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th match minute, Zawisza Bydgoszcz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Modliszewski to maneuver through the defense. Eric Brummer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonard Trela having to make a save. 63 minutes into the game, Tadeusz Latkiewicz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonard Trela. Tadeusz Latkiewicz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Rzuchowa:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zawisza Bydgoszcz:s goal. Rzuchowa:s Leonard Trela showed great skill when he stopped Eric Brummer:s penalty. In the 68th minute, Eric Brummer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonard Trela was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Rzuchowa made a substitution. Ryszard Mitus replaced Boguslaw Jestrimski. 73 minutes into the match, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goal looked a bit too open when Damazy Mitus came free, but Aivaras Adomavičius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Eric Brummer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Brummer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonard Trela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ryszard Mitus took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aivaras Adomavičius. Aivaras Adomavičius dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Leonard Trela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tadeusz Latkiewicz's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After 93 minutes, Damazy Mitus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rzuchowa and the Zawisza Bydgoszcz players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rzuchowa's Damazy Mitus got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Tadeusz Latkiewicz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonard Trela, 2-5. Igor Modliszewski might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonard Trela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Igor Modliszewski ran back to his position shaking his head. The Rzuchowa fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Zawisza Bydgoszcz were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
