GKS Katowice's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cyryl Marchewka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Feliks Lepper scored 0-2 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konstanty Panasewicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Miromir Kensicki kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Cyryl Marchewka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when Atletico Madr id was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacek Glembin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radomil Zyskowski's late challenge caught a Atletico Madr id's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Radomil Zyskowski helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Radomil Zyskowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Konstanty Panasewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyryl Marchewka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in GKS Katowice's zone, Cyryl Marchewka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Konstanty Panasewicz came out of the goal and Cyryl Marchewka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd match minute, GKS Katowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miromir Kensicki to maneuver through the defense. Cyryl Marchewka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstanty Panasewicz having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Miromir Kensicki dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Damazy Dembkowski, 1-2. After 40 played minutes GKS Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Wawrzyniec Wawak. If Cyryl Marchewka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GKS Katowice's Miromir Kensicki got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, one of GKS Katowice:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for Atletico Madr id. Ryszard Borkowski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Konstanty Panasewicz. 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerzy Sala made a kick off. 64 minutes into the match, Atletico Madr id's Cyryl Marchewka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Konstanty Panasewicz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute Jerzy Sala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damazy Dembkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damazy Dembkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miromir Kensicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Iwo Drugi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cyryl Marchewka came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Atletico Madr id fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cyryl Marchewka couldn't finish the play. If Cyryl Marchewka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, Feliks Lepper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Konstanty Panasewicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mikolaj Jarek kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Damazy Dembkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miromir Kensicki in the 86th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Jerzy Sala made a precise shot to the right of Damazy Dembkowski. Atletico Madr id's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. 94 minutes into the game, Cyryl Marchewka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Konstanty Panasewicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The GKS Katowice fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atletico Madr id were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
