Klement Penc started the match with the kick off. Lionel-Andrés Messi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ryszard Maziarz having to make a save. Ryszard Maziarz came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Pretoria Gostyń's Tomás Clodio. But to his dismay, Tomás Clodio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Klement Penc kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Piotr Jucha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryszard Maziarz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lionel-Andrés Messi's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 33rd minute, Mark Van Bastén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tomás Clodio came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Pretoria Gostyń fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Clodio couldn't finish the play. Ryszard Maziarz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Clodio in the 39th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Mark Van Bastén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nieudany Balet's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lionel-Andrés Messi was slow to take the kick. During this time Pretoria Gostyń's players had a chance to rest. Ryszard Maziarz came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Pretoria Gostyń's Tomás Clodio. But to his dismay, Tomás Clodio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Clodio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Clodio in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ryszard Maziarz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Piotr Jucha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ryszard Maziarz. That made the score 0-8 in the 58 minute of play. In the 61st minute, Hugon Walentowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Clodio in the 62nd minute of play forced Nieudany Balet's goalkeeper Ryszard Maziarz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pretoria Gostyń's Piotr Jucha got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomás Clodio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ryszard Maziarz. That made the score 0-9 in the 64 minute of play. Nieudany Balet's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Tomás Clodio scored to the left of an out of position Ryszard Maziarz, making the score, 0-10. After a defensive mix-up in Nieudany Balet's zone, Julian Biskupiak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ryszard Maziarz came out of the goal and Julian Biskupiak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Nieudany Balet getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Mark Van Bastén hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ryszard Maziarz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomás Clodio got free with Ryszard Maziarz in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Tomás Clodio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ryszard Maziarz. Nieudany Balet's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Clodio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-11.
