The corner ended in Robert Ochabski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but KP Brzeg Dolny's Antoni Piesciuk did a great save. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Wieslaw Podowski successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Antoni Piesciuk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bogumil Kowalski's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. KP Brzeg Dolny's Antoni Piesciuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogumil Kowalski in the 20th minute of play. Borys Gajewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Antoni Piesciuk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wieslaw Podowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedykt Grabski in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Nico Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stuart Armstrong got free with Wieslaw Podowski in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paquito Franco in the 38th minute of play forced KP Brzeg Dolny's goalkeeper Antoni Piesciuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wieslaw Podowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomir Zdrojowy in the 43rd minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Paquito Franco made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Wiktor Kilian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
