In the 23rd minute Boleslaw Raschke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Pleban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zenon Pleban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boleslaw Raschke, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in 3City United's zone, Leszek Podwojski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Asgar Blennild came out of the goal and Leszek Podwojski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Remigiusz Mlekodaj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Pleban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Leszek Podwojski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leszek Podwojski to make the kick off. After some careless play in the 3City United defense, Karol Tomiczek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Asgar Blennild. The 3City United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Asgar Blennild should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Remigiusz Mlekodaj got free with Zenon Pleban in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boruc Mierzwa hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Asgar Blennild made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leszek Podwojski in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Legia Warszawa's Leszek Podwojski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Asgar Blennild made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 64 played minutes Legia Warszawa got a freekick which was hit by Leszek Podwojski. Zenon Pleban made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Boleslaw Raschke sent off a good shot on target. If Bartlomiej Buczko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wasyl Szotek kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. When Remigiusz Mlekodaj came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the 3City United fans jumped to their feet. After a rather tough play, Legia Warszawa's Axel Lindberg got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartlomiej Buczko in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Asgar Blennild saved 3City United from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boleslaw Raschke in the 81st minute of play forced Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Zenon Pleban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Boguslaw Marczyniec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Boleslaw Raschke managed to get in a good position for a shot. 3City United's supporters rose to their feet, but Boleslaw Raschke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zenon Pleban breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Legia Warszawa booed when 3City United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. I Putu Tu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karol Tomiczek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boleslaw Raschke in the 92nd minute of play forced Legia Warszawa's goalkeeper Zenon Pleban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute 3City United were awarded a corner. Grzegorz Pinczewski went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Wasyl Szotek managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
