In the 7th minute Hans Mæhre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frode Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hans Mæhre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frode Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frode Heggem in the 10th minute of play. Sauane's Frode Heggem got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Leonard Kvam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frode Heggem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trym Skjevik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Christian Finsrud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Philip Log had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frode Heggem in the 42nd minute of play forced Liggunderlaget's goalkeeper Frode Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Philip Log to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Hans Mæhre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sauane's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Mæhre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frode Lundgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Sauane's Kasper Einan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Frode Lundgren. That made the score 1-2 after 59 minutes of play. Sauane's Christian Finsrud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Log in the 67th minute of play. Frode Heggem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frode Lundgren having to interfere. When Hans Mæhre came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Sauane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans Mæhre couldn't finish the play. When Jan-Kenneth Emanuelsen fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liggunderlaget's protests and gave Jan-Kenneth Emanuelsen a yellow card for diving instead. Hans Mæhre hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hans Mæhre in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frode Lundgren saved Liggunderlaget from getting behind. Frode Heggem succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 83rd playminute. Philip Log might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Finsrud. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Philip Log ran back to his position shaking his head. Hans Mæhre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Sauane's Frode Heggem sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frode Lundgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match was over Sauane could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Liggunderlaget throughout the match.
