In the 25th minute Terje Hesjedal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verner Kjøde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guttane's Ludvik Pedersen suffered a sore thigh after 30 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Kent-Are Blomvik's late challenge caught a Guttane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kent-Are Blomvik helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Segalstad BF's Kent-Are Blomvik got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Terje Hesjedal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Segalstad BF's Verner Kjøde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Christer Molteberg came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Guttane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christer Molteberg couldn't finish the play. Kent Ueland blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Verner Kjøde having to make a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Verner Kjøde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terje Hesjedal in the 52nd minute of the match. Terje Hesjedal was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Sebastian Hestad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guttane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent Ueland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guttane's attack was well implemented in the 80th minute, but when Terje Hesjedal was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. The audience was convinced that Terje Hesjedal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Verner Kjøde was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After having played for 85 minutes, Albert Gabrielsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
