The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jo Gram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Frode Anthonsen having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sandøyra's zone, Daniel Gilberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Frode Anthonsen came out of the goal and Daniel Gilberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Theodor Slettebø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Gilberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jan-Frode Anthonsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sandøyra defense, Daniel Gilberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Frode Anthonsen. The Sandøyra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Frode Anthonsen should have stopped the shot. Konrad Lervåg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Landrø took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arne Vikøren. Tømmervik BK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arne Vikøren made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Sven Årdal sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd minute, Tarjei Trones hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Konrad Lervåg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arne Vikøren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven Årdal in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Vikøren saved Tømmervik BK from getting behind. 44 minutes into the match, Sandøyra's Sven Årdal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arne Vikøren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sandøyra's Konrad Lervåg got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Konrad Lervåg was the one to do the kick off. Sandøyra's Jan-Frode Anthonsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Sandøyra from getting a goal against them. If Daniel Gilberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arne Vikøren came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Sandøyra's Konrad Lervåg. But to his dismay, Konrad Lervåg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 66 played minutes Tømmervik BK got a freekick which was hit by Roar Eklund. Konrad Lervåg took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arne Vikøren. Arne Vikøren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 74 minutes into the match, Sandøyra's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Gilberg came free, but Jan-Frode Anthonsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven Årdal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Konrad Lervåg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Vikøren having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Konrad Lervåg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandøyra's supporters rose to their feet, but Konrad Lervåg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Vikøren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arne Vikøren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Årdal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute Sandøyra were awarded a corner. Alfred Albertsen went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Theodor Slettebø got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 3-1. 95 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sandøyra had won after a very even match.
