The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoffer Serigstad got free with Svein Johannessen in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Theodor Øvsthus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Storbukt IF defense, Frode Drage kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lars-Olav Nordlien. The Storbukt IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lars-Olav Nordlien should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Frode Drage's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars-Olav Nordlien was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Lars-Olav Nordlien came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Liverpool FC's Frode Drage. But to his dismay, Frode Drage quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Storbukt IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Liverpool FC:s goal. The supporters of Storbukt IF booed when Liverpool FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrey Shevchenko didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Runar Husby fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liverpool FC's protests and gave Runar Husby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, one of Liverpool FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Liverpool FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrey Shevchenko in the 39th minute of play forced Storbukt IF's goalkeeper Lars-Olav Nordlien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoffer Serigstad got free with Svein Johannessen in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christoffer Serigstad to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Storbukt IF's zone, Frode Drage stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lars-Olav Nordlien came out of the goal and Frode Drage tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Johannes Paus made a precise shot to the right of Svein Johannessen. Liverpool FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. When Christoffer Serigstad came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Storbukt IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christoffer Serigstad couldn't finish the play. Andrey Shevchenko kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Christoffer Serigstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svein Johannessen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes, Rasmus Eriksen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liverpool FC and the Storbukt IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Liverpool FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
