Arild Norderhaug took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Sharma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Thomas Sharma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arild Norderhaug. Høyvågen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Sharma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Høyvågen's goal looked a bit too open when Joar Stordal came free, but Arild Norderhaug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Bjørn Thommesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnstein Solbakken. Hot Power FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bjørn Thommesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 34 minutes, Jon-Arne Finseth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hot Power FC and the Høyvågen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Høyvågen booed when Hot Power FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Arne Finseth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trond Undrum charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trond Undrum the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, Hot Power FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trond Undrum to maneuver through the defense. Trond Undrum kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Leon Nordtveit lost his temper 46 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Høyvågen getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Leon Nordtveit hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomas Sharma to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Thomas Sharma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arild Norderhaug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hot Power FC's Arnstein Solbakken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stian Haraldstad in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Trym Idland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnstein Solbakken was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Arild Norderhaug showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Sharma, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute.
