Bjørn Thommesen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Markus Forsberg made a huge save. Tim Saastad's late challenge caught a Trosvik IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tim Saastad helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Høyvågen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tim Saastad to maneuver through the defense. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bjørn Thommesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Markus Forsberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Høyvågen's Bjørn Thommesen got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Høyvågen booed when Trosvik IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Sæbø didn't get a good kick on the ball. Markus Forsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stian Haraldstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 66th minute, Trosvik IF's Niklas Skram dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. 69 minutes into the match, Høyvågen's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Karlsen came free, but Arild Norderhaug reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Karlsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arild Norderhaug having to interfere. Stian Haraldstad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Markus Forsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play.
