The tension between the Høyvågen and the Karnes IL players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Høyvågen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Kristian Sundgot to maneuver through the defense. Erland Aurstad scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arild Norderhaug, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arild Norderhaug showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jørn Abrahamsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Erland Aurstad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Arild Norderhaug made a huge save. In the 12th minute, Karnes IL's Arvid Lindstrøm dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 15th minute, Arvid Lindstrøm fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arild Norderhaug, passed just outside the right post. Arild Norderhaug made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Erland Aurstad sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute of the match, Jørn Abrahamsen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arild Norderhaug saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 31st minute, Jørn Abrahamsen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arild Norderhaug. The goal made the score 3-0. Høyvågen's Stian Haraldstad got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arild Norderhaug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Lindstrøm in the 39th minute of play. Arild Norderhaug took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Lindstrøm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Høyvågen's Max Harestad got a free kick in the 41st minute. Arild Norderhaug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvid Lindstrøm in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stian Haraldstad was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Høyvågen getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Tim Saastad hit a great ball. Stian Haraldstad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andreas Høyvik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Andreas Høyvik made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Bjørn Thommesen sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute Trym Idland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Høyvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes Karnes IL got a freekick which was hit by Ådne Lian. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bjørn Thommesen got free with Andreas Høyvik in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute Henrik Konradsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arild Norderhaug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trym Idland hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match.
