With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jon Svendsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Martin Bjørn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Martin Bjørn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Morten Haavik in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Svendsen saved FK Grunnfjord from getting behind. Martin Bjørn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Svendsen having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Martin Bjørn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sølvguttene's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Bjørn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Svendsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Morten Haavik had several of the FK Grunnfjord's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 27 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jon Svendsen as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Dag Hauan came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Sølvguttene fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dag Hauan couldn't finish the play. With his leg Jon Svendsen managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Sølvguttene's Morten Haavik fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. FK Grunnfjord's Jon Svendsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save FK Grunnfjord from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Morten Haavik in the 39th minute of play forced FK Grunnfjord's goalkeeper Jon Svendsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Morten Haavik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute Joachim Opsal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Gamst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Morten Haavik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Svendsen was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Finn-Christian Steinnes made a kick off. Finn-Christian Steinnes charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Martin Bjørn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84thth minute of the game Morten Haavik who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Grunnfjord's Jon Svendsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by FK Grunnfjord's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Martin Bjørn was slow to take the kick. During this time Sølvguttene's players had a chance to rest. Sølvguttene's Morten Haavik was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jon Svendsen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jon Svendsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexander Warholm went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 91 minutes, Morten Haavik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sølvguttene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Morten Haavik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pål Gamst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finn-Christian Steinnes in the 93rd minute of the match. With 94 minutes on the clock, Kim Velle commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 96 minutes, FK Grunnfjord's Tore Bjørnstad got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Pål Gamst. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sølvguttene had played much better football throughout.
