An unexpectedly hard shot by Morten Haavik in the 10th minute of play forced Stangnes Youth Academy's goalkeeper Stian Sundstrøm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stangnes Youth Academy's Stian Sundstrøm proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Stangnes Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. Åge Dvergsdal charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Åge Dvergsdal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Stangnes Youth Academy's zone, Morten Haavik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stian Sundstrøm came out of the goal and Morten Haavik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Martin Bjørn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sølvguttene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Bjørn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19thth minute of the game Morten Haavik who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stangnes Youth Academy's Stian Sundstrøm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sølvguttene's Pål Gamst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christoffer Johanson in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Birger Strømsnes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stangnes Youth Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sølvguttene the free kick. Sølvguttene's Morten Haavik got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Morten Haavik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stian Sundstrøm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Christoffer Johanson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Stangnes Youth Academy booed when Sølvguttene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Velle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morten Haavik blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stian Sundstrøm having to make a save. 37 minutes into the game, Morten Haavik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Stian Sundstrøm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pål Gamst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoffer Johanson in the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Sølvguttene's Kim Velle seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kim Velle the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sølvguttene protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kim Velle had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 43rd minute, one of Sølvguttene:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sølvguttene. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hans Helle made the kick off in the second half. Christoffer Johanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Pål Gamst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trym Hov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stian Sundstrøm having to interfere. After 61 minutes of play, Stangnes Youth Academy's Birger Strømsnes made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pål Gamst was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Martin Bjørn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trym Hov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stian Sundstrøm having to make a save. After 71 minutes, Kai-Arne Otterlei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sølvguttene and the Stangnes Youth Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Kai-Arne Otterlei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stangnes Youth Academy's Geir-Inge Neset shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pål Gamst but with some difficulty. Dag Hauan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Bjørn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stian Sundstrøm having to interfere. Sølvguttene's Martin Bjørn got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sølvguttene booed when Stangnes Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åge Dvergsdal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Sølvguttene's Martin Bjørn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stian Sundstrøm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Dag Hauan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Hans Helle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Sølvguttene's Pål Gamst got control of the ball when Christoffer Johanson tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Birger Strømsnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Although Sølvguttene had been in control for most of the match, Stangnes Youth Academy still came away with the win.
