Cato Frafjord sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 12th match minute, Kings Park Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Gran to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes Fredrikstad FK got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Høiland. Christoffer Dyrseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Lilleng, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jonas Lilleng blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christoffer Dyrseth having to make a save. Kim-André Finnøy struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Christoffer Dyrseth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fredrikstad FK. In the 35th minute Dagfinn Jørgensen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Rekdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fredrikstad FK's Fredrik Høiland got a free kick in the 39th minute. The supporters of Fredrikstad FK booed when Kings Park Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Gran didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andreas Gran was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Kristoffer Kaur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rune Rekdal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Markus Taranger. Fredrikstad FK's Jonas Lilleng got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th match minute, Kings Park Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagfinn Jørgensen to maneuver through the defense. Christoffer Dyrseth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Lilleng in the 72nd minute of the match. Rune Rekdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigurd Lindholm in the 73rd minute of play. In the 78th minute of the match Kristoffer Kaur sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rune Rekdal skillfully saved the ball. Atle Hofstad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoffer Dyrseth having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sigurd Lindholm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kings Park Rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigurd Lindholm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rune Rekdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 97th minute of the match Markus Taranger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rune Rekdal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
