Stian Sundstrøm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finn-Christian Steinnes, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Finn-Christian Steinnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FK Grunnfjord's Finn-Christian Steinnes pulled a muscle in his leg after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amund Bue during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FK Grunnfjord booed when Stangnes Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amund Bue didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joachim Opsal charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joachim Opsal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Stangnes Youth Academy booed when FK Grunnfjord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Opsal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the game, Stangnes Youth Academy's Christoffer Johanson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jon Svendsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Christoffer Johanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Helle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jon Svendsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FK Grunnfjord's Jon Svendsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Helle in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Benjamin Dvergsdal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Benjamin Dvergsdal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Helle made a kick off. Benjamin Dvergsdal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Stian Sundstrøm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birger Strømsnes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Stian Sundstrøm came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by FK Grunnfjord's Benjamin Dvergsdal. But to his dismay, Benjamin Dvergsdal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Christoffer Johanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jon Svendsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Benjamin Dvergsdal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 minutes, Tor-Andre Bjerkestrand mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK Grunnfjord and the Stangnes Youth Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, FK Grunnfjord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Dvergsdal to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FK Grunnfjord getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Tor-Andre Bjerkestrand hit a great ball. Geir-Inge Neset, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With his leg Jon Svendsen managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Stangnes Youth Academy's Christoffer Johanson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Christoffer Johanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Svendsen having to interfere. Joachim Opsal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Stian Sundstrøm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to FK Grunnfjord getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Tarjei Sleire hit a great ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
