When Tönsberg Brùgge's Trym Buan in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jon Karlsen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Martin Valderhaug showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 11 minute of play. Victor Moan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trym Buan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Helge Davidsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ole-Jostein Kalvik's late challenge caught a Diavoli Rossoneri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ole-Jostein Kalvik helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Tönsberg Brùgge got a freekick which was hit by Ole-Jostein Kalvik. In the 32nd minute, Bjørn Granheim fired a really elegant long shot, but Jon Karlsen threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Martin Valderhaug took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jon Karlsen to make any attempt to save it. Helge Davidsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jon Karlsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Valderhaug fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Karlsen having to interfere. Martin Valderhaug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Jim Sødal suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 46 minutes of play Tönsberg Brùgge's Ole-Jostein Kalvik was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Tönsberg Brùgge getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ole-Jostein Kalvik hit a great ball. Jon Karlsen made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Elias Bjørnå sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Martin Valderhaug made the kick off in the second half. Jon Karlsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Petter Rein in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tönsberg Brùgge's zone, Martin Valderhaug stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Karlsen came out of the goal and Martin Valderhaug tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd match minute, Tönsberg Brùgge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Grøtting to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Helge Davidsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Karlsen was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Valderhaug in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Karlsen saved Tönsberg Brùgge from getting behind. Martin Valderhaug's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jon Karlsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play.
