Lyn Oslo 1896's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Porto the free kick. Edvard Myran kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Porto's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andreas Jørstad was slow to take the kick. During this time Lyn Oslo 1896's players had a chance to rest. In the 12th match minute, Lyn Oslo 1896 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Eleder to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Eleder came free, but Kent Wahlstrøm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Octav Stroia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kent Wahlstrøm. Porto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octav Stroia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 27th minute, Adrian Urdin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lyn Oslo 1896 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Gualterio Eleder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Wahlstrøm having to interfere. The supporters of Lyn Oslo 1896 booed when Porto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Preben Riis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lyn Oslo 1896 were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Porto's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Andreas Jørstad took the corner. The corner ended in Andreas Jørstad almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Porto's Kent Wahlstrøm did a great save. Kent Wahlstrøm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Urdin, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Octav Stroia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Lyn Oslo 1896 were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Preben Riis made a kick off. With a little luck, Porto's Kent Wahlstrøm got control of the ball when Adrian Urdin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gualterio Eleder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Adrian Urdin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joakim Reiten during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joakim Reiten kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Gjermund Hegland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kent Wahlstrøm came out and tried to block the shot, but Gjermund Hegland slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 62nd minute. Octav Stroia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Kent Wahlstrøm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian Urdin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Wahlstrøm having to interfere. If Octav Stroia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adrian Urdin came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Lyn Oslo 1896 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adrian Urdin couldn't finish the play. In the 91st match minute, Porto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Reiten to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes into the match, Porto's Jan Honningsvåg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trond Bragstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Lyn Oslo 1896 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Porto.
