Thanks to some nice moves Lars Røkke could shoot a difficult shot in the 35th minute, which Kent Wahlstrøm however easily saved by the left post. Porto's Kent Wahlstrøm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Snorre Lerøy in the 37th minute of play. Lars Røkke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Kent Wahlstrøm made a huge save. In the 45th minute Joakim Reiten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Gjeruldsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Preben Riis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Gjeruldsen having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
