Vebjørn Bjørnstad shot a long shot in the 11th minute and a light blocked Martin Skogstad hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-0. 15 minutes into the game, Maria Mena's Romualdo Gibert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Skogstad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Egil Hagen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 31 played minutes Gjengstøen got a freekick which was hit by Torjus Anfinsen. Maria Mena's Romualdo Gibert got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martin Skogstad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vebjørn Bjørnstad in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Vebjørn Bjørnstad recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martin Skogstad. Vebjørn Bjørnstad showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. When Maria Mena's Marcu Hrebenciuc in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gjengstøen's goalie prevented a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcu Hrebenciuc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Martin Skogstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romualdo Gibert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egil Hagen made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Ole-Gunnar Forbord sent off a good shot on target. Romualdo Gibert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romualdo Gibert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Martin Skogstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romualdo Gibert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Skogstad read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Egil Hagen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torjus Anfinsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Thomas Dramstad charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomas Dramstad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thomas Dramstad hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gjengstøen's zone, Romualdo Gibert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Skogstad came out of the goal and Romualdo Gibert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the game, Romualdo Gibert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Martin Skogstad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maria Mena's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
