Christer Westlie took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Martin Skogstad. Gjengstøen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sommernes FK's zone, Torjus Anfinsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Óscar Cordoba came out of the goal and Torjus Anfinsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raymond Silden could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Martin Skogstad made a huge save. In the 17th minute Torjus Anfinsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Skogstad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raymond Silden in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Raul Esiquio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Skogstad. Gjengstøen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raul Esiquio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tor-Henrik Skogen, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Raymond Silden notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Gjengstøen's Martin Skogstad. Martin Skogstad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 40 minutes, Raymond Silden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sommernes FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond Silden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute Raul Esiquio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Skogstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Raymond Silden put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Martin Skogstad. Raymond Silden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Skogstad having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ole-Gunnar Forbord to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Esiquio in the 51st minute of play forced Gjengstøen's goalkeeper Martin Skogstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sommernes FK's Ståle Alfsen got a free kick in the 58th minute. When Raymond Silden came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Sommernes FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raymond Silden couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Gjengstøen's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond Silden came free, but Martin Skogstad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Sommernes FK were awarded a corner. Torstein Fosse went to the cornerflag to take it. Sommernes FK's Torstein Fosse was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Martin Skogstad in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gjengstøen's Martin Skogstad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Silden in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Sommernes FK's Åsmund Myhra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Skogstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Raymond Silden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st match minute, Gjengstøen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Henrik Skogen to maneuver through the defense. Edvin Bjerkan's late challenge caught a Sommernes FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edvin Bjerkan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sommernes FK booed when Gjengstøen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvin Bjerkan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ståle Alfsen didn't quite understand what happened when in the 84 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 87 minutes into the match, Raymond Silden notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Gjengstøen's Martin Skogstad. Martin Skogstad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raymond Silden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Skogstad having to interfere.
