Viking FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Stein-Roger Pladsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Tjelle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Viking FK's Ask Tønsberg in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fiasco da Gama's goalie prevented a goal. Stein-Roger Silden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Audun Bjørgen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Ask Tønsberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Fiasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Bergsland to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the game, Arne Sannerud cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arthur Tjelle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fiasco da Gama:s Arthur Tjelle showed great skill when he stopped Roger Eikås:s penalty. 29 minutes into the match, Viking FK's goal looked a bit too open when Audun Bjørgen came free, but Stein-Roger Silden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arthur Tjelle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ask Tønsberg in the 32nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ask Tønsberg in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Tjelle saved Fiasco da Gama from getting behind. In the 35th minute, Ask Tønsberg made a precise shot to the right of Arthur Tjelle. Fiasco da Gama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. If Idar Tømmervik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Idar Tømmervik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Stein-Roger Silden made a huge save. Ask Tønsberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arthur Tjelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Viking FK's Stein-Roger Pladsen got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stein-Roger Silden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Idar Tømmervik in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ask Tønsberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Viking FK booed when Fiasco da Gama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelius Eidem didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fiasco da Gama's goalkeeper Arthur Tjelle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th match minute, Fiasco da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frode Vågenes to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Tjelle made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Ask Tønsberg sent off a good shot on target. 0-4 became the score in the 63rd minute when Arne Sannerud elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Arne Sannerud hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Arne Sannerud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Arthur Tjelle made a huge save. Ask Tønsberg struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Arthur Tjelle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viking FK. Viking FK's Ask Tønsberg managed to work through Fiasco da Gama's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ask Tønsberg dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Stein-Roger Silden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Idar Tømmervik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stein-Roger Silden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Idar Tømmervik went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. If Cornelius Eidem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viking FK's Stein-Roger Silden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Idar Tømmervik in the 87th minute of play. When Audun Bjørgen fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fiasco da Gama's protests and gave Audun Bjørgen a yellow card for diving instead. Audun Bjørgen hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When Stein-Roger Pladsen came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Viking FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stein-Roger Pladsen couldn't finish the play. With his leg Arthur Tjelle managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Viking FK's Ask Tønsberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Viking FK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
