The supporters of Arsenal FC booed when Vålerenga Fotball was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sander Hestetun didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Leithe got free with Johannes Strandvik in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 9 minutes into the match, Alex Leithe notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Vålerenga Fotball's Johannes Strandvik. Johannes Strandvik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roar Minde in the 15th minute of play forced Vålerenga Fotball's goalkeeper Johannes Strandvik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Roar Minde came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Arsenal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roar Minde couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Vålerenga Fotball's Ludvik Voll got a free kick in the 18th minute. Paul Midttun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Leithe scored 2-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johannes Strandvik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roar Minde in the 36th minute of play forced Vålerenga Fotball's goalkeeper Johannes Strandvik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roar Minde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Johannes Strandvik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Vålerenga Fotball was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Sagstuen to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paul Midttun to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Halvor Engelund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roar Minde in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johannes Strandvik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kent-Are Askeland kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Beniamin Gregorczyk was a little too slow when Even Gjersøe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 2-1. If Ludvik Voll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johannes Strandvik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Leithe in the 64th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Oliver Sagstuen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gjøran Idsø fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arsenal FC's protests and gave Gjøran Idsø a yellow card for diving instead. Gjøran Idsø hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Vålerenga Fotball's Johannes Strandvik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Leithe in the 78th minute of play. Halvor Engelund might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johannes Strandvik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Halvor Engelund ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the match, Roar Minde had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Johannes Strandvik. Vålerenga Fotball's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roar Minde was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Johannes Strandvik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Leithe, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a rather tough play, Vålerenga Fotball's Roy Stormyr got a free kick in the 86th minute. Vålerenga Fotball's Johannes Strandvik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Leithe in the 90th minute of play. Alex Leithe's late challenge caught a Vålerenga Fotball's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Leithe helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Arsenal FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Alex Leithe hit a great ball.
