The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Zé Pedro Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Nykvaag fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Pedro Lopez couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ubaldo Frantzes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nykvaag's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubaldo Frantzes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tage Smestad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th minute Ubaldo Frantzes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tage Smestad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Nykvaag got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Frantzes. Bastien Kennel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tore Linnerud in the 21st minute. Curtis United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anton Bårdsen in the 24th minute. The corner ended in Anton Bårdsen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Nykvaag's Bastien Kennel did a great save. If Tore Linnerud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tore Linnerud scored 1-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bastien Kennel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Curtis United's Tore Linnerud got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Pedro Lopez struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Tage Smestad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nykvaag. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Pedro Lopez in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tage Smestad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Curtis United's Stefan Hatlen got a free kick in the 44th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Pedro Lopez to make the kick off. 52 minutes in the game, Zé Pedro Lopez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tage Smestad having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Nykvaag got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Ishmael. If Tore Linnerud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bastien Kennel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tore Linnerud in the 58th minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Nykvaag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarle Hagerup to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Curtis United's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Lopez came free, but Tage Smestad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Curtis United's Tage Smestad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Lopez in the 70th minute of play. Tore Linnerud struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bastien Kennel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curtis United. In the 75th minute, Yngvar Øvrum got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bastien Kennel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tore Linnerud in the 80th minute of play. Tage Smestad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 86 minutes into the match, Zé Pedro Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tage Smestad. Curtis United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Pedro Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After some careless play in the Curtis United defense, Zé Pedro Lopez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tage Smestad. The Curtis United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tage Smestad should have stopped the shot. Tage Smestad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Ubaldo Frantzes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Nykvaag players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
