Coniunctis Viribus's Max Huiting played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaas van Fessum in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Coniunctis Viribus's goal looked a bit too open when Klaas van Fessum came free, but Max Huiting reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Martin Hoving came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Coniunctis Viribus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Hoving couldn't finish the play. After 13 minutes, Hans-Cees Kleefstra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heusden Eendracht and the Coniunctis Viribus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hans-Cees Kleefstra hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Bart Sleiffer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas van Fessum in the 19th minute of play forced Coniunctis Viribus's goalkeeper Max Huiting to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Klaas van Fessum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Huiting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacques Evenhuis made a kick off. When Hans-Cees Kleefstra was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Heusden Eendracht's Hans-Cees Kleefstra got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Heusden Eendracht's goalkeeper Alfred Sloothaak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Coniunctis Viribus's Martin Hoving got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martin Hoving received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Alfred Sloothaak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Klaas van Fessum took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Max Huiting. Max Huiting dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 70th minute, Klaas van Fessum got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Coniunctis Viribus manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Heusden Eendracht to win.
