Jacco Friebel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wengelo RKSV. In the 11th minute Gert Baan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacco Friebel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Auke Wiggers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emiel Heesen struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Jorn Terpstra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kavelingen. Emiel Heesen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Emiel Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorn Terpstra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiel Heesen in the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Wengelo RKSV's goal looked a bit too open when Auke Wiggers came free, but Jorn Terpstra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kavelingen's Auke Wiggers got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Hoogsteen during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Kavelingen booed when Wengelo RKSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Hoogsteen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorn Terpstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiel Heesen in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Emiel Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorn Terpstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Auke Wiggers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kavelingen's supporters rose to their feet, but Auke Wiggers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorn Terpstra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Auke Wiggers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jorn Terpstra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiel Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Gert Baan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacco Friebel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kavelingen's Jacco Friebel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carsten Klerk in the 58th minute of play. Carsten Klerk took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacco Friebel. Jacco Friebel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Carsten Klerk came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Wengelo RKSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carsten Klerk couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Jan Boeringe took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jorn Terpstra to make any attempt to save it. A wasted opportunity for Kavelingen. 82 minutes into the match, Kavelingen's Auke Wiggers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorn Terpstra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 83rd minute, Wengelo RKSV's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Auke Wiggers fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Remond Kik hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, Auke Wiggers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 94 played minutes Kavelingen got a freekick which was hit by Jan Boeringe. Wengelo RKSV's Gert Baan got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
