Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eustacio Duardo started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Ajax booed when Great Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Valentijn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Americo Esdras hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 10thth minute of the game Eustacio Duardo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Great Fc's Gido de Jaeger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Americo Esdras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Leon Schaap came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Great Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Schaap couldn't finish the play. Gido de Jaeger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eustacio Duardo's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Americo Esdras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute Leon Schaap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerjan Velez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Schaap took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gerjan Velez. Gerjan Velez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eustacio Duardo got free with Gido de Jaeger in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Americo Esdras came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Ajax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Americo Esdras couldn't finish the play. With 29 minutes on the clock, Rudi Tonnis commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ajax! After having played for 35 minutes, Menno Iemberge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Great Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Menno Iemberge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maikel van Bronckhorst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Americo Esdras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johan Weken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Maikel van Bronckhorst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leon Schaap to make the kick off. Gerjan Velez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Menno Iemberge in the 53rd minute of play. In the 59th minute, Leon Schaap made a precise shot to the right of Gerjan Velez. Ajax's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax's zone, Alfred Wilson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerjan Velez came out of the goal and Alfred Wilson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Americo Esdras in the 64th minute of play forced Great Fc's goalkeeper Gido de Jaeger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 65 minutes Great Fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dennis Alards who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ajax's Dennis Alards to fire away a dangerous shot which Gido de Jaeger despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 69th minute, Maikel van Bronckhorst got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johan Weken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute, Menno van Steensel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johan Weken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gido de Jaeger having to make a save. Gido de Jaeger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Weken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Great Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Maikel van Bronckhorst came free, but Gido de Jaeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Great Fc were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ajax's much stronger midfield.
