The Wullenhoven fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Wullenhoven's Dirk Roeles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FC Gemelli's Wilco Höhenstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save FC Gemelli from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Wullenhoven getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Oliver Zuidema hit a great ball. Dave van Zomeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriaan Ritsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Wilco Höhenstein made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Oliver Zuidema sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute, Geert Haremeijer had to leave the field with a concussion. Koen Claevers hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Dave van Zomeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill van Rijswijk in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Wullenhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Koen Stam to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st match minute, FC Gemelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Vroom to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Wullenhoven getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Arno Fransen hit a great ball. Kees Bosman kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Gemelli's Wilco Höhenstein got control of the ball when Koen Stam tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match Wullenhoven got a corner. FC Gemelli's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dirk Roeles ran over to the corner to take the kick. 41 minutes into the match, FC Gemelli's goalkeeper Wilco Höhenstein had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Koen Stam. In the 43rd minute Toni Hilbrands shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilco Höhenstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Koen Stam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Koen Stam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wullenhoven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Koen Stam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th match minute, FC Gemelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Vroom to maneuver through the defense. Wilco Höhenstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Zuidema in the 55th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Wullenhoven's goalkeeper Dave van Zomeren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriaan Ritsma. Dave van Zomeren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill van Rijswijk, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Adriaan Ritsma charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adriaan Ritsma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adriaan Ritsma hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. FC Gemelli's Wilco Höhenstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koen Stam in the 72nd minute of play. Wilco Höhenstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toni Hilbrands, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Wilco Höhenstein came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Wullenhoven's Koen Stam. But to his dismay, Koen Stam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Adriaan Ritsma in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dave van Zomeren, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Dave van Zomeren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adriaan Ritsma in the 89th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Koen Stam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wullenhoven's supporters rose to their feet, but Koen Stam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilco Höhenstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 95 minutes into the game, Toni Hilbrands cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Wilco Höhenstein was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Wullenhoven players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
