The referee showed Auke van As the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Dirk-Jan Mathijsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergeikers's supporters rose to their feet, but Dirk-Jan Mathijsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lex van der Werff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 17 played minutes Bergeikers got a freekick which was hit by Joost Telkamp. Olo Marcos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin van Aalderen, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Otto Stroeve cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Olo Marcos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Heythuysen's Coos Hebert got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 31 minutes, Coos Hebert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heythuysen and the Bergeikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. Coos Hebert kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 46th minute Fatih-Sultan Mehmet suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Coos Hebert got his second yellow card in the match during the 46th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Coos Hebert kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Auke van As to make the kick off. Lex van der Werff came out of the goal and Dirk-Jan Mathijsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joost Telkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Lex van der Werff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Waard charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Steven Waard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 74 played minutes Heythuysen got a freekick which was hit by Steven Waard. In the 76th minute, Otto Stroeve ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olo Marcos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Steven Waard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olo Marcos having to interfere. Lex van der Werff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harm Kleinman, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Ainis Naudzuns took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lex van der Werff. Lex van der Werff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Elco Hertog managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heythuysen's supporters rose to their feet, but Elco Hertog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olo Marcos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lex van der Werff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ainis Naudzuns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Auke van As struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Olo Marcos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heythuysen. Olo Marcos made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Auke van As sent off a good shot on target. Bergeikers were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Heythuysen to leave the ground with a draw.
