The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Griet's Robbie Meurs got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 7 minutes, Gerrit Vroom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Griet and the Ramele players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Griet! The referee gave Ramele a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Coenraad Hofman, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Griet's Vincent Schaap. 0-1. Griet's Vincent Schaap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joris Roelofs in the 12th minute of play. If Denny Moorlag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herman Aalberts kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luc Okkes in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ragnar Almqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute Luc Okkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Almqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramele's Ragnar Almqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luc Okkes in the 36th minute of play. When Marc Plagge came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ramele fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Plagge couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Griet:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ramele:s goal. Coenraad Hofman shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The Griet players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ramele were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joris Roelofs to strike the kick off in the second half. When Denny Moorlag fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Griet's protests and gave Denny Moorlag a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Griet getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Denny Moorlag hit a great ball. Marc Plagge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joris Roelofs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Schaap having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marc Plagge got free with Vincent Schaap in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes in the game, Joris Roelofs fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Vincent Schaap having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Marc Plagge fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Joris Roelofs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vincent Schaap had great luck who in the 64thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joris Roelofs from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Vincent Schaap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joris Roelofs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Plagge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Vincent Schaap tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Griet booed when Ramele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Buckinx didn't get a good kick on the ball.
