Empe Excelsior's Gregorio Tor got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Gregorio Tor came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Empe Excelsior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Tor couldn't finish the play. Teo Ensing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Tor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Empe Excelsior's goalkeeper Haroldo Poncio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giel Jorna. A collision led to v.v. Surhuisterveen getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Giel Jorna hit a great ball. If Gregorio Tor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroldo Poncio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mitchell Hilkes in the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Empe Excelsior's goalkeeper Haroldo Poncio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giel Jorna. Gregorio Tor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teo Ensing having to make a save. Andrej Moštenan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Ensing having to interfere. Teo Ensing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrej Moštenan in the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind v.v. Surhuisterveen's goalkeeper Teo Ensing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 47th minute Gregorio Tor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Ensing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrej Moštenan to strike the kick off in the second half. Teo Ensing didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Empe Excelsior's Andrej Moštenan shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Haroldo Poncio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giel Jorna, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Marcel Kauffeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, v.v. Surhuisterveen's Teo Ensing got control of the ball when Gregorio Tor tried to sneak it across the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Empe Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Giel Jorna came free, but Haroldo Poncio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrej Moštenan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teo Ensing having to make a save. Empe Excelsior's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
