The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jan Willemsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Enkhuizen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brunsting the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Enkhuizen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! Enkhuizen:s Richard Pepping showed great skill when he stopped Jan Willemsen:s penalty. Brunsting's Demy Brunt got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jan Willemsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Willemsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute, Jan Willemsen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brunsting fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Jordy van Zijl hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Demy Brunt struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Richard Pepping didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brunsting. After having played for 27 minutes, Jan Willemsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brunsting's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Willemsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute Edward Averdijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurt Harmsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Willemsen in the 47th minute of play forced Enkhuizen's goalkeeper Richard Pepping to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 52 minutes, Roeland Brandsma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brunsting's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roeland Brandsma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Demy Brunt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richard Pepping read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Richard Pepping didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan Willemsen went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Richard Pepping took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Willemsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 98th minute of the match Foeke Koops completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Foeke Koops a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 98th match minute, Enkhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foeke Koops to maneuver through the defense.
