Ruddi Elmfelt came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by MVV Maastricht's Vincent Mans. But to his dismay, Vincent Mans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save MVV Maastricht from getting a goal against them. Ruddi Elmfelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Mans in the 25th minute of the match. Maikel Wiarda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Dean Verbruggen made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, La Isla Bonita's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs de Zee came free, but Ruddi Elmfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruddi Elmfelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Fleur, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save MVV Maastricht from getting a goal against them. La Isla Bonita's Ruddi Elmfelt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Fleur in the 42nd minute of play. MVV Maastricht's Maarten Colen got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lukas Pierewaaijer kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. If Vincent Mans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Wim van Gaal made the kick off in the second half. Gilbert Fleur struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Ruddi Elmfelt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Ruddi Elmfelt had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Maarten Colen's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 79 minutes into the match, La Isla Bonita's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Fleur came free, but Ruddi Elmfelt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tonny Robbermond in the 81st minute of play forced MVV Maastricht's goalkeeper Dean Verbruggen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
