After 14 minutes, Marcel Kuiper mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VVS and the FC Agressor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute Berkin Darcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Rijkaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Agressor booed when VVS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis van Hintum didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berkin Darcan in the 31st minute of play forced VVS's goalkeeper Hubert Rijkaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Agressor's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dennis Roelfs in the 33rd minute. Dennis Roelfs made a great header on FC Agressor's corner, it was just that VVS's Hubert Rijkaard managed to reach the ball for a save. Hubert Rijkaard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bassi Adriaanse in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Berkin Darcan in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hubert Rijkaard saved VVS from getting behind. Philip Hoffhuis's late challenge caught a FC Agressor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berkin Darcan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The VVS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Rijkaard should have stopped the shot. After 73 minutes of play, FC Agressor's Dennis Roelfs made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. VVS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 14-0. In the 89th minute, Mathias Cornelisse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
