In the 35thth minute of the game Anastasio Muno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MVV Maastricht's Dean Verbruggen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anastasio Muno in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Verbruggen saved MVV Maastricht from getting behind. MVV Maastricht's Maarten Colen managed to work through Poortugaal FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Maarten Colen dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 44th minute, Anastasio Muno made a precise shot to the right of Dean Verbruggen. MVV Maastricht's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maarten Colen to strike the kick off in the second half. When Twan Ponk fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. MVV Maastricht's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the MVV Maastricht players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Poortugaal FC.
