Hernen Bacon's Kacper Gruchacz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klaus Borgman in the 15th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, VVS's goalkeeper Hubert Rijkaard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Caneira. With a little luck, VVS's Hubert Rijkaard got control of the ball when Peter Borg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Klaus Borgman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Kacper Gruchacz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Hernen Bacon's Hirving Lozano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hubert Rijkaard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After some careless play in the VVS defense, Peter Borg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hubert Rijkaard. The VVS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Rijkaard should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hirving Lozano to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes VVS got a freekick which was hit by Rinus Popping. In the 52nd minute of the match Peter Borg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hubert Rijkaard skillfully saved the ball. Ricardo Caneira took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hubert Rijkaard. Hubert Rijkaard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Caneira in the 58th minute of play forced VVS's goalkeeper Hubert Rijkaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hubert Rijkaard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hirving Lozano in the 60th minute of the match. VVS's Hubert Rijkaard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Borg in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the VVS defense, Peter Borg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hubert Rijkaard. Christiaan Butter charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christiaan Butter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to VVS getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Christiaan Butter hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when 蔡榕响 in the 85th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Hubert Rijkaard's left hand side. Hubert Rijkaard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hirving Lozano, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. VVS's Hubert Rijkaard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Caneira in the 89th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Ricardo Caneira made a precise shot to the right of Hubert Rijkaard. VVS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0.
