Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Paulo Oliverios took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of MVV Maastricht booed when Frytum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Fokkens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the game, Maarten Colen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hans Geitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hans Geitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Fleur in the 8th minute of the match. Hans Geitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathijs de Zee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes Frytum got a freekick which was hit by Douwe Peeters. Hans Geitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Fleur in the 21st minute of the match. Maurits Ruben scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hans Geitz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute Maarten Colen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Geitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Maurits Ruben came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the MVV Maastricht fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurits Ruben couldn't finish the play. Maurits Ruben, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maarten Colen in the 37th minute of play forced Frytum's goalkeeper Hans Geitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henk-Jan Beuneker charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henk-Jan Beuneker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th minute Mathijs de Zee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Geitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Geitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarten Colen in the 41st minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Maurits Ruben notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Frytum's Hans Geitz. Hans Geitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maarten Colen made a kick off. Hans Eylens's late challenge caught a MVV Maastricht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans Eylens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th minute, Hans Eylens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the game, Boudewijn Been was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Frytum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MVV Maastricht the free kick. In the 58th match minute, Frytum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boudewijn Been to maneuver through the defense. Hans Eylens was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Frytum's Hans Eylens got a free kick in the 60th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Maurits Ruben kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hans Geitz. That made the score 1-5 in the 67 minute of play. Dean Verbruggen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Oliverios, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Douwe Peeters recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Maarten Colen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans Geitz. Frytum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maarten Colen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. In the 79th match minute, MVV Maastricht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathijs de Zee to maneuver through the defense. Hans Geitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurits Ruben in the 82nd minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Frytum's goalkeeper Hans Geitz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maarten Colen. 92 minutes into the match, Gilbert Fleur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans Geitz. Frytum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilbert Fleur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. After 95 minutes, Gilbert Fleur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MVV Maastricht and the Frytum players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gilbert Fleur kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the match was over MVV Maastricht could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Frytum throughout the match.
