Caseys Dreamteam 2's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert Jan de Zaaijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hubert Rijkaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute Eddy Verweijen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Kuiper in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Caseys Dreamteam 2 booed when VVS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaus Borgman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 31 minutes of play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Gooitzen Bot made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hubert Rijkaard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cláudio Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Verweijen in the 39th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Caseys Dreamteam 2's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Verweijen came free, but Cláudio Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Caseys Dreamteam 2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudi de Zwart to maneuver through the defense. Klaus Borgman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cláudio Linhares. Caseys Dreamteam 2's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

In the 57th minute, Ger Ijsselhof hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Gooitzen Bot got a free kick in the 58th minute. Marcel Kuiper could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Cláudio Linhares made a huge save. Claude Helssen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Gooitzen Bot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hubert Rijkaard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 74 minutes into the game, Klaus Borgman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cláudio Linhares. Klaus Borgman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. With a little luck, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Cláudio Linhares got control of the ball when Eddy Verweijen tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute, Ralph Barels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. VVS's Marcel Kuiper got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
