Dean Verbruggen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Finidi George in the 3rd minute of play. In the 6th minute, Gooitzen Bot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caseys Dreamteam 2 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Jan Damstra got a free kick in the 9th minute. Dean Verbruggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finidi George, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Caseys Dreamteam 2's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Fleur came free, but Cláudio Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Caseys Dreamteam 2 getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Gert Jan de Zaaijer hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathijs de Zee in the 20th minute of play forced Caseys Dreamteam 2's goalkeeper Cláudio Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathijs de Zee in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, MVV Maastricht's Vincent Mans got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After 24 played minutes MVV Maastricht got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Mans. Kristjan Vaarmann was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cláudio Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maarten Colen, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Gooitzen Bots short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Dean Verbruggen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Dean Verbruggen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Caseys Dreamteam 2's Cláudio Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maarten Colen in the 36th minute of play. Dean Verbruggen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finidi George in the 39th minute of the match. Caseys Dreamteam 2's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kristjan Vaarmann in the 40th minute. It was a well-played corner which Ralph Barels managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. MVV Maastricht's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Gooitzen Bot scored to the left of an out of position Dean Verbruggen, making the score, 2-0. 47 minutes into the match, Maurits Ruben notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Caseys Dreamteam 2's Cláudio Linhares. Cláudio Linhares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Gooitzen Bot made the kick off in the second half. When Dave Otten fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MVV Maastricht's protests and gave Dave Otten a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Caseys Dreamteam 2 booed when MVV Maastricht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Otten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dean Verbruggen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gooitzen Bot, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Dean Verbruggen came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Caseys Dreamteam 2's Finidi George. But to his dismay, Finidi George quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gooitzen Bot in the 64th minute of play forced MVV Maastricht's goalkeeper Dean Verbruggen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 minutes of play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Gooitzen Bot made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dean Verbruggen was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Gooitzen Bot came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Caseys Dreamteam 2 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gooitzen Bot couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, MVV Maastricht's Hans Roelofsen got a free kick in the 79th minute. Caseys Dreamteam 2's Kristjan Vaarmann couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 80th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for MVV Maastricht. A collision led to MVV Maastricht getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Vincent Mans hit a great ball. Gooitzen Bot struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Dean Verbruggen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caseys Dreamteam 2. Finidi George might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dean Verbruggen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Finidi George ran back to his position shaking his head. Gooitzen Bot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Dean Verbruggen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricky Mol's late challenge caught a Caseys Dreamteam 2's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricky Mol helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, MVV Maastricht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Mol to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the MVV Maastricht players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caseys Dreamteam 2.
