Bram Wessel made a great header on Mijdrecht Maffia's corner, it was just that sc de Jong's Mathieu Roetering managed to reach the ball for a save. When Elmar Dam fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored sc de Jong's protests and gave Elmar Dam a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mijdrecht Maffia booed when sc de Jong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elmar Dam didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juvenal Vaz in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mathieu Roetering saved sc de Jong from getting behind. sc de Jong's Mathieu Roetering played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Vaz in the 11th minute of play. Agostinho Vidal spun around in front of the goal 13 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of sc de Jong's goal. Rob Poelman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmar Dam, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The audience was convinced that Juvenal Vaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathieu Roetering was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juvenal Vaz was the one to do the kick off. Rob Poelman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elmar Dam went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 56thth minute of the game Juvenal Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but sc de Jong's Mathieu Roetering was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to sc de Jong getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jan van der Meijde hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Agostinho Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Mathieu Roetering. sc de Jong's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 62nd minute Bram Wessel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathieu Roetering saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very nice done corner allowed Juvenal Vaz to score against Mathieu Roetering in sc de Jong's goal. 1-4 after 65 minutes. When Elmar Dam was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. A collision led to sc de Jong getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Elmar Dam hit a great ball. In the 71st minute, Juvenal Vaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathieu Roetering was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Vidal in the 74th minute of play forced sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juvenal Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Roetering having to interfere. Johan Seinstra's late challenge caught a Mijdrecht Maffia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johan Seinstra helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in sc de Jong fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! After 94 minutes sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering managed, with a little bit of luck, save Agostinho Vidal's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Agostinho Vidal managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 1-6 in the 94th minute. Mijdrecht Maffia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
