Spectators: 8457 (Terracing: 6344, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 169) Zijdewind SC's Sipke Kroon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaap Themmen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mario Klompe. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Elmar Dam's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mario Klompe was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. After 12 played minutes Zijdewind SC got a freekick which was hit by Chiel Brinke. sc de Jong's Emil Dekens got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of sc de Jong booed when Zijdewind SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sjors Hoekstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Klompe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmar Dam, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Pascall Klaus kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Elmar Dam reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mario Klompe. The goal made the score 2-0. Mario Klompe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan van der Meijde went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute, Elmar Dam fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zijdewind SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Jaap Themmen scored to the left of an out of position Mario Klompe, making the score, 4-0. When Jaap Themmen came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the sc de Jong fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaap Themmen couldn't finish the play. A well placed Elmar Dam short distance shot in the 45th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elmar Dam was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Sipke Kroon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zijdewind SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sipke Kroon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathieu Roetering breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 played minutes sc de Jong got a freekick which was hit by Bjorn Abbenbroek. In the 66th minute, Jaap Themmen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The sc de Jong fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. Sipke Kroon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Roetering having to interfere. If Jaap Themmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Elmar Dam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jaap Themmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaap Themmen scored 11-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mario Klompe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. sc de Jong were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Zijdewind SC for a fine match.
