The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaap Themmen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Richard van der Bij fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Roetering having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Roelage got a freekick which was hit by Jan Hartogh. A collision led to sc de Jong getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jan van der Meijde hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by 彭磊烽 in the 16th minute of play forced sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, sc de Jong's Emil Dekens seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Emil Dekens the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of sc de Jong protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Emil Dekens had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. sc de Jong's Mathieu Roetering played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard van der Bij in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Job Zwarthoet in the 26th minute of play forced sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaap Themmen got free with Timmie Niekamp in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Schutrups was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 彭磊烽. Richard van der Bij kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Mathieu Roetering made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when 彭磊烽 sent off a good shot on target. Mathieu Roetering showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Job Zwarthoet in the 63rd minute of the match. Jan van der Meijde kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 68th minute of the match Jan Hartogh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathieu Roetering skillfully saved the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Mathieu Roetering successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, sc de Jong's Mathieu Roetering got control of the ball when 彭磊烽 tried to sneak it across the goal line. Heiko Schuurmans hit a great ball. Johan Seinstra, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Mathieu Roetering made an important save on a dangerous shot by 彭磊烽 in the 92nd minute. A collision led to sc de Jong getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Elco Kort hit a great ball. The sc de Jong fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Roelage were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
