The sc de Jong fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when sc de Jong's Elmar Dam looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Demy Kamps charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Demy Kamps the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. David van Putten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elmar Dam, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Jaap Themmen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David van Putten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David van Putten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elmar Dam in the 21st minute of the match. Mathieu Roetering showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurits van der Bij, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Jaap Themmen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The sc de Jong fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emil Dekens couldn't finish the play. Stevensbeek FC's David van Putten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaap Themmen in the 36th minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match, Elmar Dam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but David van Putten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 73rd minute of the match, Jaap Themmen got a very nice opportunity to score, but David van Putten was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
