Spectators: 8200 (Terracing: 6150, Seating: 1886, VIP seats: 164) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Frits Degens kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Maseland in the 8th minute of play forced Vitesse's goalkeeper Dimitrie Buring to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Vitesse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roderick Westerink to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Foeke Plescher managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Feyenoord's supporters rose to their feet, but Foeke Plescher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dimitrie Buring breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the FC Feyenoord defense, Taco Koole kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Presebal. The FC Feyenoord fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Presebal should have stopped the shot. Ricardo Presebal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frits Degens in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, FC Feyenoord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Padro to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute Aktuğ Suer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Presebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Feyenoord's Ricardo Presebal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Koole in the 23rd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, FC Feyenoord was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Gasteren to maneuver through the defense. Taco Koole scored 1-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Presebal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44thth minute of the game Frits Degens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Feyenoord's Ricardo Presebal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Foeke Plescher made a kick off. Aktuğ Suer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Presebal having to interfere. FC Feyenoord's Ricardo Presebal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Koole in the 54th minute of play. Dimitrie Buring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Maseland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Presebal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frits Degens in the 64th minute of the match. Aktuğ Suers short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Ricardo Presebal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aktuğ Suer got free with Ricardo Presebal in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Vitesse's Ricardo Presebal threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frits Degens, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Foeke Plescher in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dimitrie Buring saved Vitesse from getting behind. Pieter Van Dock was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 81st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the game, Frits Degens recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Presebal. Frits Degens showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-4. 93 minutes into the match, Vitesse's goal looked a bit too open when Foeke Plescher came free, but Dimitrie Buring reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Presebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taco Koole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimitrie Buring made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Maseland in the 96th minute of play. Vitesse played a much better game than FC Feyenoord and deserved their victory. The FC Feyenoord players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
