After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Onyinye Obodoechi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aku Akingbogun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Onoriode Nnorom's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Criss Amadasu was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute, Enyi Ogunbona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Enyi Ogunbona notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Hilltown FC's Criss Amadasu. Criss Amadasu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 41 minutes, Enyi Ogunbona mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knottingley FC and the Hilltown FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes Knottingley FC got a freekick which was hit by Enyi Ogunbona. Juwon Kamba charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juwon Kamba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hilltown FC's Viktor Onobo got a free kick in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Olejuru Olukunle made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Knottingley FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Enyi Ogunbona hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerome Wogwugwu during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Onoriode Nnorom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Knottingley FC's zone, Olejuru Olukunle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aku Akingbogun came out of the goal and Olejuru Olukunle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Knottingley FC's Enyi Ogunbona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Criss Amadasu. Criss Amadasu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Hilltown FC's Criss Amadasu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enyi Ogunbona in the 70th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Onoriode Nnorom got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Knottingley FC's Aku Akingbogun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Onyinye Obodoechi in the 75th minute of play. Olejuru Olukunle took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aku Akingbogun. Aku Akingbogun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Knottingley FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
