After 4 played minutes, Immingham's Sampson Ademokun shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Criss Amadasu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Immingham reached it. Adegun Nnamoko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 8th minute, Idris Emenalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Criss Amadasu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Omolola Adimabua's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute of the match Immingham got a corner. Hilltown FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ishola Uke ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 14th minute, Adegun Nnamoko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tolulope Odegbami's late challenge caught a Immingham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tolulope Odegbami helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Immingham booed when Hilltown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolulope Odegbami didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the game, one of Hilltown FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Immingham. Ishola Uke stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Criss Amadasu. 0-1. After 20 played minutes Immingham got a freekick which was hit by Sampson Ademokun. If Onyinye Obodoechi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Adegun Nnamoko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Criss Amadasu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 33 minutes, Omolola Adimabua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Immingham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Omolola Adimabua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adegun Nnamoko in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Criss Amadasu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the game, Immingham's Omolola Adimabua nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Criss Amadasu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 41 minutes, Juwon Kamba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hilltown FC and the Immingham players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hilltown FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Juwon Kamba hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Ishola Uke shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Criss Amadasu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Immingham's Omolola Adimabua got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Udobata Chukwuegbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olejuru Olukunle made a kick off. Omolola Adimabua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Criss Amadasu having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Udobata Chukwuegbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Olejuru Olukunle came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Hilltown FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olejuru Olukunle couldn't finish the play. Ndubuagha Fatahi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olejuru Olukunle in the 64th minute of play. Omolola Adimabua's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Criss Amadasu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Juwon Kamba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omolola Adimabua was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Immingham's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Eberegbulam Yekini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Onyinye Obodoechi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 minutes of play, Hilltown FC's Onyinye Obodoechi made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ndubuagha Fatahi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Samuel Akindelu hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After 88 minutes Hilltown FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ishola Uke who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Immingham's corner Ishola Uke fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Criss Amadasu quite easily take care of the ball. Olejuru Olukunle's late challenge caught a Immingham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olejuru Olukunle helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 92 minutes, Omolola Adimabua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Immingham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Omolola Adimabua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Omolola Adimabua got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Hilltown FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Immingham were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
