Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kyle England Sant Fournier started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Marsalforn AFC's Kyle Abbate got control of the ball when Victor Montebello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victor Montebello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Kyle Abbate made a huge save. Victor Montebellos short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Kyle Abbate to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 12th match minute, Kirkop Rainbows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Mallia to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute of the match Jacob Rodo  shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nick Dimech showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Sebastian Hyzler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kirkop Rainbows's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Hyzler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kyle Abbate stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Hyzler's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Kirkop Rainbows's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Kirkop Rainbows booed when Marsalforn AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyle England Sant Fournier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cedric De Lucca struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Kyle Abbate didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kirkop Rainbows. 37 minutes into the match, Marsalforn AFC's goalkeeper Kyle Abbate had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Hyzler. With a little luck, Marsalforn AFC's Kyle Abbate got control of the ball when Bjorn Schembri Zerafa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nick Dimech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle England Sant Fournier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 played minutes Kirkop Rainbows got a freekick which was hit by Jason Micallef. After a rather tough play, Kirkop Rainbows's Cedric De Lucca got a free kick in the 45th minute. Kyle Bongailas's late challenge caught a Kirkop Rainbows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kyle Bongailas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Marsalforn AFC's Kyle Bongailas got a free kick in the 46th minute. Kyle Abbate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Hyzler, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Hyzler was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ranier Butters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kyle England Sant Fournier hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After having played for 55 minutes, Sebastian Hyzler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kirkop Rainbows's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Hyzler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marsalforn AFC's Kyle Abbate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cedric De Lucca in the 56th minute of play. Kyle England Sant Fournier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick Dimech having to interfere. In the 61st minute Cedric De Lucca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyle Abbate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Bjorn Schembri Zerafa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kyle Abbate was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Bjorn Schembri Zerafa came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Kirkop Rainbows fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bjorn Schembri Zerafa couldn't finish the play. Kyle Abbate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedric De Lucca in the 68th minute of play. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle Abbate having to interfere. Kirkop Rainbows's Sebastian Hyzler got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kyle Abbate having to make a save. Kyle Abbate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cedric De Lucca in the 78th minute of the match. Kirkop Rainbows's Bjorn Schembri Zerafa got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastian Hyzler struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Kyle Abbate didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kirkop Rainbows. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kyle Abbate. Kyle Abbate dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Kirkop Rainbows booed when Marsalforn AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neil Dagostino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bjorn Schembri Zerafa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Kirkop Rainbows players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
