Spectators: 6849 (Terracing: 5005, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 3) karawetta FC's Ben Mumford started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Sliema's Adriano Scifo got a free kick in the 4th minute. Wilfred Barbaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Justin Cioffi. karawetta FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Edward Bajo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sliema's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave karawetta FC the free kick. Edward Bajo hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, John Grimaud managed to get in a good position for a shot. karawetta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but John Grimaud was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brady Fabri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edward Bajo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes karawetta FC got a freekick which was hit by William Zahra. Justin Cioffi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roderick Gonzi's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Justin Cioffi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Bajo went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. William Zahra hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Adriano Girard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ben Mumford in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brady Fabri saved Sliema from getting behind. Justin Cioffi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roderick Gonzi in the 32nd minute of play. John Grimaud scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brady Fabri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Justin Cioffi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roderick Gonzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 40 played minutes Sliema got a freekick which was hit by Edward Bajo. Roderick Gonzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Cioffi having to interfere.

Ben Mumford struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Brady Fabri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for karawetta FC. Sliema's Brady Fabri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Grimaud in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Adriano Girard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. karawetta FC's Justin Cioffi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save karawetta FC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Sliema's Adriano Girard got a free kick in the 66th minute. John Grimaud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Edward Bajo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Justin Cioffi. That made the score 1-2 in the 77 minute of play. Edward Bajo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edward Bajo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Justin Cioffi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sliema. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Edward Bajo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sliema's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
