Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xandru Abbenevoli in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Gulia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Jason Francalanza sped through Marsa Youths's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Etienne Agius. In the 28th minute, Jason Francalanza made a precise shot to the right of Etienne Agius. Marsa Youths's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Jason Francalanza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Etienne Agius came out and tried to block the shot, but Jason Francalanza slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 31st minute. Marsa Youths's Etienne Agius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Magnus Ahlström in the 40th minute of play. If Jason Francalanza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Testaferrata Abela's late challenge caught a Bianconeri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Testaferrata Abela helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bianconeri booed when Marsa Youths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Testaferrata Abela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Jason Francalanza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute Karl-Magnus Ahlström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Etienne Agius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marsa Youths's Etienne Agius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jason Francalanza in the 97th minute of play.
