Spectators: 9229 (Terracing: 6923, Seating: 2123, VIP seats: 183) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Anthony Hamilton made the kick off which started today's match. Leonard Grima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Etienne Agius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Michele Markham came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Diamond Eyes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michele Markham couldn't finish the play. Michele Markham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Agius having to interfere. Michele Markham came free with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Etienne Agius could save by the left post. After 23rd play minutes Michele Markham shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Etienne Agius and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 25th match minute, Marsa Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Privitelli to maneuver through the defense. Michele Markham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Etienne Agius made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Marsa Youths's Alfred Galea got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 35th minute, Jake Privitelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Michele Markham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xandru Abbenevoli was the one to do the kick off. Etienne Agius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michele Markham in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Marsa Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Galea to maneuver through the defense. When Anthony Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Diamond Eyes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Hamilton couldn't finish the play. After 68 minutes of play, Diamond Eyes's Michele Markham made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Etienne Agius was left in no man's land by his defense there! Etienne Agius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Hamilton, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Marsa Youths's zone, Anthony Hamilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Etienne Agius came out of the goal and Anthony Hamilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clayton Gulia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xandru Abbenevoli in the 81st minute of play. Jake Privitellis short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Clayton Gulia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Michele Markham came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Diamond Eyes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michele Markham couldn't finish the play. In the 87th match minute, Marsa Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Mary Rolè to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Michele Markham put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Etienne Agius. Diamond Eyes walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
